About S.O.U.L. Sisters Leadership Collective

 S.O.U.L. (Sisters Organizing for Understanding & Leadership) Sisters Leadership Collective is comprised of youth workers, educators, healers, artists, and organizers who create leadership opportunities for Black and Brown girls and femmes impacted by the justice system. We disrupt cycles of violence by empowering youth who have experienced multitudes of criminalization using our four pillars: collective leadership, radical artistic expression, healing, and restorative justice. Since our founding in August of 2014 in Miami and NYC, we continue to build a world in which young women, femmes, and TGNC youth reclaim lives of authenticity, joy, and freedom.

Summary

SSLC has an immediate opening for a dynamic and dedicated Administrative and Operations Summer Assistant to support our Miami office during our high volume summer season. The Administrative and Operations Summer Assistant is responsible for day-to-day administrative support for our Girl’s Design Camp summer program and the Miami office at large. They will collaborate with the Youth Social Entrepreneurship team and our Administrative and Operations Director to support day-to-day office operations.

Position Responsibilities 

  • Managing day-to-day administrative operations;
  • Answering the phone and replying to voicemails as well as the administrative email accounts; 
  • Sending out organization wide emails to staff members; 
  • Calendaring and scheduling invitations; 
  • Placing supply orders & shopping on behalf of organization; 
  • Ordering food for summer program participants;
  • Attending weekly check in meetings with Social Enterprise Manager and Admin & Ops Director;
  • Organizing physical office and storage space; 
  • Supporting with office relocation including but not limited to identifying potential office leads, conducting follow-up calls, site visits, etc.
  • Organizing mailings and shipments; 
  • Maintaining office and storage inventory; 
  • Other tasks as needed and determined by the supervisor.

Experience & Competencies Required 

Successful candidates will: 

  • Be outgoing, self-starters who demonstrate professionalism and strong relationship-building skills; 
  • Have experience with administrative tasks including task management & professional email communication; 
  • Have an analysis of anti-racist and anti-oppressive practices and principles including gender and racial justice; 
  • Have experience and passion uplifting and centering Black girls and femmes; 
  • Be LGBTQIA+ affirming; 
  • Have reliable transportation; 
  • Have strong written and oral communication skills; 
  • Possess emotional intelligence; 
  • Bring whole self to position. 

No educational/degree requirements. Knowledge of Microsoft, Google and Excel applications are a plus. Reports directly to Social Enterprise Manager Alexis Hyatt; As well as the Director of Operations, Donette Manning. 

Office Location: Miami

Start Date: June 13, 2022

Duration: June 13, 2022 – July 29, 2022

Compensation: $30/hour for a maximum total of 20 hours/week 

Day/Hours: Monday – Thursday 12 PM – 5 PM. Weekends and other days & times as needed

Orientation: TBD
