Alexis Hyatt is a queer artist residing in South Florida. With her innate passion for her community, she’s involved herself, as well as held leadership positions, in numerous clubs and community organizations that center narratives of marginalized communities.
Alexis is a recent Cum Laude graduate of Florida International University where she has received her Bachelor’s in Sociology and a certificate in Black Global Studies in which she focused on transnational identities of blackness. She hopes to bridge the gap between art and the lives of people who have been rendered voiceless in a patriarchal, imperialist, white supremacist, capitalist society in order to help amplify their narratives in media. Next year she will be pursuing her master’s degree in social work where she hopes to continue to work with black and brown youth in the Juvenile Justice System.
