Chika Pondexter (they/them) is a South FL illustrator/comic artist and the Visual Artist for the UJIMA collective. Within the past couple of years they’ve started taking a more active role in helping their community, starting a mutual aid network, and volunteering in a creative cohort called Courageous Creatives where they worked with other young creatives to discuss ways to enact change in our community. They’re currently working as a freelance illustrator/comic artist, with aims to go into animation and help inspire another generation of Black artists and storytellers.
