Memorial Event: Honoring Atatiana Jefferson
S.O.U.L. Sisters is offering a memorial and healing space for communities impacted by the police murder of Atatiana Jefferson. During this memorial, we will build a community altar, write letters/prayers, and sing.
It is our right to center our healing and our grief, even as we fight for justice for our people.
Our repass will be a Community BBQ & Mural Painting event following the memorial with the purpose of calling for the demilitarization of schools across the country.

In Miami Dade-County Public Schools, there are on average 277 arrests and 187 citations. These arrests range from school fighting to even tantrums. A single arrest increases the likelihood of future arrests and school drop out.
Schools have to be places where we don’t just survive, but thrive! To survive is to not live at all!
Join us for a full day of political education, mural painting, freedom visioning, community building, and BBQ-ing!
